Planting

After 12 months the front yard needs another couple of trailer loads of biomat. The soil does seem to be improving as the good stuff 'bleeds through' the heavy clay soil. The natives are doing well ... we lost a few in the heat wave but most have tolerated our ho hum gardening methods. The house next door is nearly complete so we can start thinking about boundary planting.

We've decided on a row of Eucalyptus Caesia or Silver Princess, and will try and source Hakea Victoria for the other boundary. Beautiful plants.

  1. Hi Dy!
Welcome back to blogging again. I love the Silver Princess and we still have one in the back yard struggling to survive but hopefully it will. Building sites in new estates are so hard to establish beautiful gardens but if the soil is feed then our plants are given the best chance to thrive.
Sometimes I feel its only the weeds that thrive in my garden! Cant wait to hear about how you are settling in after a year.

  2. hi Mrs B. I've been watching your blog and how you are decorating your beautiful house - it is looking wonderful. Isn't it great having your new home back from the builders!

We are planting out the front today so I will post some pics soon of the revitalised front yard. I hope our Silver Princess lives .. we just ordered 4 tonnes of soil and bio mat so hopefully that will help give them a head start. cheers Dy
